Job Description
Immediate Openings! The software engineer will design modify develop and implement software programming applications. The position will also conduct unit testing and participate in code review system test process through code and test review and analysis and remediation of code review and test defects.
Summary of essential job functions:
Design develop enhance debug and implement software. Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
Researches unit test build and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on customer requirements. Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
Address problems of systems integration compatibility and multiple platforms.
Consult with project team and end users to identify application requirements.
Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages application integration and testing tools.
Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Act as team leader on projects.
Instruct assign direct and check the work of other software developers on development team.
Participate in development of software user manuals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements/Years of Experience: Bachelors degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college with 35 years of software engineering experience; or a Masters degree with 2 years software engineering experience; or a PhD degree with 1 year software engineering experience.
Skills: Knowledge of software engineering standard concepts best practices and procedures. Has demonstrated proficiency and experience in developing and maintaining software applications and computer systems. Knowledge and experience with CMMI engineering process areas. Has working experience: with product(s) and components used within NIDS II and experience providing software engineering experience of complex systems employing one or more of the following technologies tools or products:
Coding Standards Design Patterns ObjectOriented Design Web Services C C Java Java EE SQL XML XSD Red Hat Linux Server VMware Web Mapping Service Unix Shell Scripting Solaris Mavern Subversion
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Full time position
Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required by regulation and contract.
Schedule Requirements: This position shall require individual to be available during normal working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) but is subject to change due to business needs.
Physical Requirements: This position primarily consists of working indoors in an office environment at the customers location. Essential functions: The employee may be required to: sit walk or stand for extended periods talk and hear with the ability to communicate detect converse with discern convey express oneself exchange information to use the hands and fingers to operate activate use prepare inspect place or position and see to detect determine perceive identify recognize judge observe inspect estimate and assess. Lift up to 50 lbs.
Travel Requirements: No travel requirement at this time. If required it would less than 10.
