A DAY IN THE LIFE

Enthalpy Analytical is part of the larger organization Montrose Environmental Group is comprised of laboratories servicing air water and soil testing. Regulations drive the need for our services but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.

We are looking for a fulltime Analyst I to join our VOCs team at our environmental lab in Denver Colorado.

Schedule Varies Ability to work at least an 8hr shift.

Starting as early 8am and as late as 8pm.

Also available to work 1 weekend day Saturday or Sunday

As a key member of the laboratory team this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

• Analyze solvent extracts for semivolatile organic pollutants by GCMS analysis

• Review data and assemble reports

• Calibrate maintain and repair instrument

• Prepare standards

• Maintain reagents and supplies inventory and order replacements

• Keep workstation clean and organized

• Mentor Lab Technicians and Analyst Is

• Performs analysts review of data and QC

• Reviews of QA/QC criteria for batch acceptance

• Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and follow safe work practices

• Participates in instruments preventative maintenance and trouble shooting

• Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency

• Be flexible in work schedule including overtime when needed

• React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

• Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company

• Compliance with Enthalpys Quality Assurance Program and other policies

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required

• BA/BS in science

• 1 years of GCMS experience in an environmental lab

• Position requires attention to detail ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and a desire to worth both as part of a team and independently

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Proficiency using analytical equipment including: balances pipettes bottle top dispensers hot blocks and volumetric/graduated glassware.

• Experience with GCMS analysis preferably with Agilent hardware and software (Chemstation/MassHunter). Handson instrument maintenance experience is also highly desirable.

• Ideal candidates have experience with Varian Archon Purge and Trap Autosamplers and/or Xylem/OI Analytical Sample Concentrators.

• Knowledge of analytical method analytical instruments general lab practices and lab safety

• Must be flexible in work schedule (including Saturday) and able to work overtime

• Well organized and have an attention to detail

• Able to multitask

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
