Job Description

Lifesteps is hiring a FullTime Disability Services Program Specialist to be based in the office in Export PA.

Position Summary:

The ID Program Specialist is responsible for ensuring the health safety and wellbeing of persons with intellectual disabilities by assisting in the development and implementation of appropriate plans. for their care and development. (i.e. Individual Plans (IP) Restrictive Procedure Plans Social Emotional Environmental Plans Fade Plans and Desensitization Plans.

The Program Specialist creates an environment that empowers individuals through the development of skills and coordination of resources and supportive services. They ensure that all special needs adult individuals have regularly scheduled medical dental psychiatric and psychological services in accordance with regulations and doctor recommendations.

This position is a combination of both hands on work with individuals and in the office performing administrative duties. It is not a supervisory position.

Hours Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm. No evenings No weekends No holidays! 40 hrs per week stability.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or autism OR
  • 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university plus 4 years experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or autism.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to articulate information to a diverse audience
  • Must secure and maintain training requirements for Crisis Prevention Intervention within three months of hire
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess a valid drivers license which legally permits operating a motor
