Job Description
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5 years I/T experience (extensively with Windows Server
3 years server administration experience in a large networked environment
2 years of experience with Microsoft technology (Specifically AD Azure)

Ability to construct and destruct complex solutions in order to offer the most optimal solutions to our customers.

Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements
Knowledge of converged networking environment
Knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows Linux and Unix
Experience with vmWARE
Knowledge of Active Directory
Experience in a SAN environment
Experience with Cisco rackmountable servers
Experience with Network protocols: TCP/IP
ITIL certification a plus.

General Summary/Overview
The Strategy and Design Team identifies and positions new data center infrastructure technologies and services as a component of the overall architectural strategy to meet business needs. The infrastructure includes Hybrid Cloud Server Hardware and Operating Systems Storage Database and surrounding management and monitoring of those technologies.
The Strategy and Design team works closely with the Technology Services and Operations Integrated Network and Communication IS Support Services and the Partners CTO and Site CIOs as well as various working groups in the organization to continue the evolution of the data center infrastructure (both physical and virtual).
The Design team (a subset of the Strategy and Design Team) is responsible for architecture design and documentation of new and emerging data center infrastructure technologies for use throughout Partners. The Design Team is also accountable for the infrastructure certification environment which includes keeping the center up to date and process and procedures for requesting certification center services. We follow ITIL best practices for the lifecycle of the services.
The Server Engineer II is responsible for the gathering & documentation of business requirements that support Partners policies and working with the various teams within Partners IS as well as 3rd party vendors to engineer solutions within the networking computing and storage space. Assist with streamlining the Windows 2008 and Windows 2012 servers updates and certifications on the Partners network.
A Server Engineer II will also be responsible for working with VMware EMC/Dell Cisco UCS/VBlocks in order to update modify and optimize the enterprise platforms (including CPU memory and disk utilization).

Project management emphasizing technical integration within the Partners environment
Configuration and deployment of server solutions in the Partners enterprise certification center or production test environments (on prem hybrid and cloud)
Limited 3rd tier support of performance monitoring technical support and advanced troubleshooting of servers and SANs
Architecture recommendations around data integrity backups restores failovers and disaster recovery
Complex problem analysis and recovery
Technical consultation on complex projects
Performance of software product evaluations (Proof of concepts)
Documentation of problems and solutions
Provide feedback from vendor presentations.
Attend vendor roadmap discussions and PHS roadmap discussions to stay knowledgeable about both business needs and solutions that may fit our environment.
