In this role youll be instrumental in elevating key performance indicators (KPIs) driving departmental initiatives and nurturing a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. As a pivotal member of our plant leadership youll actively engage in weekly meetings leveraging your problemsolving skills to identify and implement innovative solutions. Collaboration will be key as you work seamlessly with quality warehouse maintenance and sanitation teams to ensure operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Take steps to actively maintain a safe workplace in compliance with OSHA regulations and that promotes an attitude that worker safety is very high priority.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards (OSHA USDA HACCP GMPs)
- Maintains effective working relationships with team members through open communication visibility and involvement to promote a positive working environment that maximizes safety employee engagement productivity and throughput.
- Determine optimal staffing levels and proactively alert management to the need for new hires.
- Helps to drive improvements in labor efficiency by managing headcount overtime and work activities of the team.
- Manage employee requests and scheduling. Approve timeoff request as fit to support the needs of the plant and employee.
- Address equipment issues promptly and collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- Provide feedback and coaching to line leads and production staff.
- Set rate of production to meet output requirements while also actively engaging in and leading of work processes to ensure high quality product and efficient use of input materials.
- Provide input for and participate in development/ documentation of training materials/ Stand Works Instructions (S.W.I.s).
- Serve as an example to other production workers for proper behavior and work ethic.
- Proactively address problems in the Production Department.
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation of all daily paperwork related to product safety & quality lot traceability throughput yield and other production reporting.
- Facilitate clear and open communication across all levels on all topics relevant to the operation.
- Report any food safety or quality issues to QA tech and plant manager.
- Responsible for team member coaching and development employment decisions and resolving issues through conflict resolution. Hires trains coaches and reviews performance of team members. Partners with Human Resources and Production Manager for recruitment corrective actions and terminations.
- Will act as back up to Line Leads or Production Team Worker as needed.
- Other appropriate duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a successful leader in the food industry
- Leadership experience in production environment
- Experience with USDA preferred
- Preferably bilingual English/Spanish
Shift Schedule: Monday Friday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Saturday work as required by production demand.
Salary: $70000 to $85000
