Are you an experienced Solution Architect looking for role in a large international organization Do you want to work with exciting largescale projects as part of an evolving IT organisation If so we have an exciting opportunity for you!
You will be joining the global function IT & Digital Enablement (IT&DE) with reference to the Director of Business Applications. You will be part of a team of skilled Solution Architects and Application Managers who is focused on ensuring applications support business processes while maintaining high standards of performance availability and compliance.
About the job
As Senior Solution Architect you will be involved in various large projects where your role will be to support on translating functional and nonfunctional requirements into the design of IT business solutions. This will be done by applying financial constraints while securing the compliance with higher level architecture and security principles and policies in VELUX.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Accountable for the HighLevel (architecture) design and design documentation with support from Infrastructure and Development teams:
Process documentation conceptual data modelling and data flows application and service maps network and hosting.
Apply Security Data Privacy & Performance requirement mapping to solution design and backup and recovery model.
Define technical architectural solutions by designing and defining building blocks (new or existing) necessary for the solution. This can be a combination of COTS solutions and custom build applications.
Justification of Build vs Buy recommendations of new solution components and manage technology selection processes for solutions in alignment with Domain Architects and Application Architects where applicable.
System integration design in accordance with VELUX Integration strategy principles and guardrails.
Support IT Application Owners on Service introduction (GoLive) and doing impact assessment of bigger change requests before design and phases.
Offer essential support to Project Managers and IT Application owners in solution planning activities.
You will be based at our offices in either Hrsholm or Warsaw enjoying the benefits of flexible working when it makes sense for you and the business. You can expect limited travel.
About you
We are looking for you who have solid experience within solution architecture and who is motivated to learn how to apply this in VELUX.
Furthermore you have:
A technical educational background and at least 7 years of experience in an IT architectural position.
Practical experience of splitting architectural design into business application data and technology layer.
Solid business understanding and the ability to learn new technologies and respond to changing business requirements.
Great analytical and problemsolving skills to effectively diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
Advanced interpersonal collaborative and communicative skills making you capable of working with crossfunctional teams and explain complex technical details clearly and understandably.
Familiarity with TOGAF or similar EA frameworks is a plus.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
