Reporting to the Manager of Assistive Technology as a member of a multidisciplinary team theCertified Orthotistprovides a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decisionmaking creativity interpersonal skills and professional development. TheCertified Orthotistprovides clinical leadership particularly in complex cases and has the knowledge skill and judgment needed to provide competent evidence informed care. The dynamic environment requires theCertified Orthotistto work autonomously as well as collaboratively with other health care professionalsto solve challenging clinical issues. TheCertified Orthotistsupports the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship. TheCertified Orthotistwill attend clinics rounds conference and meetings as required and provide supervision and evaluation of students and/or technicians.
The Orthotist may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio within a seven day service.
