Reporting directly to the Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day work of receiving and documenting wholesaler order and direct shipment orders. Additionally the Pharmacy Inventory Specialist provides purchasing support for hospital departments outpatient medical practices and affiliates.
Education
High School or equivalent (GED).
Certification Registration & Licensure
Registration required: Must be actively registered with the Board of Pharmacy.
Certification Required: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
Preferred: Supply Chain and Inventory Management Certificate
Experience
35 years of Pharmacy Technician experience. Strong computer and inventory management software desired as well as personnel productivity software i.e. MS Office or equivalent.
Responsibilities
Performs all duties and responsibilities of Technician II.
Prioritizes daily Pharmacy Technician duties in the Distribution and IV Room areas.
Assists with routine monthly inspections and regulatory compliance.
Performs Pharmacy inventory and supply coordination.
Assists with evaluating products for costs packaging labeling and delivery time.
Assists with processing invoices and maintaining records for all purchases.
Partners with customers and Pharmacy staff to review and address problems and variances.
Help to identify and process vendor and FDA product recalls and alerts.
Assists with managing expired and waste items.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
