Impact
As a Engineer on the Platform and Core Integrations team at Shipt you will be responsible for designing building and optimizing the systems and services that power Shipts core systems and Platform Integrations. You will be collaborating with staff principal senior engineers and the product team to drive the architecture delivery for the success of business goals. Additionally you should be comfortable working in an Agile environment and follow agile practices.You will work on a team of about 5 engineers to design develop test deploy and maintain application code using Golang Postgres Redis and Kafka in a microservices architecture. You will work with crossfunctional teams to address various challenges in supporting core systems ensuring the stability scalability and performance of applications.
What Youll Need to Be Successful
- 2 years experience working on end to end software development lifecycle.
- You know how to develop backend microservice applications.
- You are able to build software applications that run in production using Golang or a similar programming language like Java C# C/C or Python.
- You enjoy reviewing and collaborating with other engineers on their code.
- You are able to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are passionate about participating in the design process to build efficient scalable and maintainable architecture.
- You are willing to monitor and own the platform and core integrations team and be part of weekly oncall production support rotation.
- Strong knowledge of testing fundamentals; unit integration e2e etc.
- Experience with Postgres Redis and Kafka.
Work Arrangement
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham San Francisco or Minneapolis to be hybrid which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate collaborate and spark team connections. Inoffice expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require inoffice presence on a fulltime basis.
