Trust AccountantJob Description Summary
The Trust Accountant will be responsible for the financial control and reporting of trust accounts across Australian states and is accountable for ensuring all trust accounts are managed in compliance with the regulatory requirements.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Manage trust account transactions daily using JDE
Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation reports for Licensee approval
Maintenance of the Bank Reconciliation Control Sheet KPI
Process trust receipts payments and transfers
Manage the annual trust account audits including liaison with auditors regulators and C&W management
Ensure compliance with internal control structures and that work produced it to a highquality standard
Regulatory compliance reporting
Other ad hoc activities & project involvement
Background and Experience
The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge and experience with the regulatory compliance requirements relating to Property Agents and Trust Accounts. 3 years in a similar previous role.
The role requires individuals who are experienced with Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and Financial Reporting.
Business partnering experience from working with business and support teams will be beneficial.
Experience in dealing with outsourced providers and managing their performance is highly desirable.
Experience in procedure and process ownership change and continuous improvement is highly desirable.
Occupation specific capabilities:
Tertiary Finance qualification
Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for Property Agents and Trust Accounts
3 years experience
Strong IT skills
High proficiency in MS Excel
Exposure to JDE and Blackline preferred
Preferred Requirements:
Permanent Resident (preferred)
Location: Canberra is preferred but we are open to considering applicants based in Melbourne.
