Job Description
Required
- High School education required.
- Associates Degree in related health field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of one year experience as a licensed massage therapist preferred.
- Certified by the American Massage Therapy Association required.
- Current massage therapy license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients. Demonstrate the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development and cultural background.
- Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.Preferred
- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills working with diverse population.
- Work independently be selfdirected and contribute as a member of a team.
- Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
- High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
- Attention to detail.
We are looking for a perdiem licensed massage therapist to work at SRHs newest outpatient location. SRH Quincy islocatedin the state of the art Quincy Branch of the South Shore YMCA. Applicant should expect to treat a diverse client population treating both able bodied and disabled clients.The Massage therapist will work with a team ofclinicians including Nutrition Acupuncture andPhysical Therapy. License and/or dual certifications in other healthcare fields not mandatory butpreferred.
Applicant should be independent display great communication skills have excellent customer service and capable ofmarketing massage services both within the facility and to external customers.
Growth opportunities exist for the right massage therapist within this region of the Spaulding Network (Braintree Hanover).
Key Responsibilities
- Patient medical history is obtained prior to performing massage therapy.
- Therapeutic massage is performed on clients ranging in age from adolescent to geriatric and is tailored to meet individual needs and age of client.
- Different massage techniques such as Swedish massage deep tissue massage and trigger point massage are performed in accordance with the American Massage Therapy Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
- Medical record documentation is completed according to center guidelines.
- Additional department organization or network activities are completed per established objectives.
