Job Description

Receiving general direction from Dr. Rosand Dr. Anderson and the Lab Manager incumbent will work in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics to perform genetic analyses for internal and external analysis projects which include but are not limited to; electronic health records queries genotyping/phenotyping GWAS exome array sequencing and meta and megaanalyses. The candidate will also assist in managing the genetics platform of the Rosand Lab including QC of common and rare variant analyses. Candidate is required to make a minimum of a 2 year commitment to the Lab.


Incumbent will perform computational analysis of a variety of genomics datasets genetic analyses for internal and external analysis projects which include but are not limited to curating genotype/phenotype databases analyzing relevant genotype and phenotype data for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke communicating with program faculty fellows external agencies participating in international scientific collaborative projects and GWAS exome array sequencing and meta and megaanalyses. The Analyst will also assist current lab members in managing the genetics platform of the Rosand Lab including QC of common and rare variant analyses. Candidate will take part in the analysis of the labs ongoing ICH GWAS discovery phases and replication genotyping efforts. This will also include taking part in regular conference calls to discuss project status next steps and present data generated. Fellow is encouraged to generate analysis plans of their own leveraging the samples and data available to the lab.

The candidate will interact directly with investigators in the CHGR Harvard Medical School the Broad Institute and international collaborators to perform analyses using established and custime pipelines. Minimum of a BA or B.S. in biology computer science or related fields is required.


Minimum of 2 years clinical or research experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Undergraduate graduate or postgraduate training in bioinformatics computer science computational biology computational geneticsand/or statistics preferred.

Scientific background with proven experience in multitasking various assigned scientific/research projects.

Interest in transitioning into the medical profession is preferred.
