Job Description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institutions overall program of education. This position will represent the Senior Director of Athletics Compliance in various capacities. The Director of Athletics Compliance reports directly to the Senior Director of Athletics Compliance and assists in the oversight of compliance of NCAA rules to ensure the eligibility of players and educate coaches and staff to prevent violations. Commitment to and compliance with the Universitys and Department of Athletics policies and procedures as well as the conference and NCAA constitutions bylaws legislation and regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: 50 Serve as primary liaison to a specific set of sports and subdivisions of Athletics Department as assigned by the Senior Director of Athletics Compliance. Such liaison responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide NCAA Sun Belt (or applicable) Conference and App State legislative interpretations and rules education. Monitor team personnel playing and practice season awards and recruiting activities. Assist with investigating and selfreporting NCAA rules violations. Draft legislative waivers as needed. 20 Under the supervision of the senior compliance administrator serve as the primary facilitator of App States Name Image and Likeness compliance initiatives (e.g. rules education disclosure policy development). 10 Serve as the primary facilitator of App States Agent Registration program. 10 Assist in the development and maintenance of the Athletic Compliance website and social media efforts. 5 Participate in the design and substance of the Universitys Athletic Compliance program. 5 Any other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Athletics Compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree 35 years of experience in NCAA Compliance

Preferred Qualifications
47 years of experience at a Division I FBS Athletic Compliance Office Masters Degree/JD
