Job Description

This role will be integral in ensuring the smooth opening of our new Club in Neenah the development and training of staff and the cultivation of strong community relationships. The Branch Director will work closely with leadership to create a welcoming and engaging environment for both staff and youth. By building key partnerships within the community this position will help guarantee that youth in the area receive an optimal and enriching club experience.
Position Overview
The Branch Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of an affiliated branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley in accordance with the strategic direction set by organizational Leadership in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Essential Job Functions
Leadership
  • Create and sustain a valuesbased branch culture that leaves ample room for individual and team autonomy creates a clear and supported path toward position mastery and wherein all staff and volunteers believe at all times their success in fulfilling their role is necessary to the achievement of the organizations mission.

Strategic Planning & Agility
  • Solicit varying forms of feedback from team members community partners Club members families and other stakeholders to help drive the optimal club experience.
  • Ensure efficient and effective daytoday operations of the Branch.
  • Establish good working relationships collaborative agreements and strategic partnerships with community groups funders government agencies and other communitybased organizations to help achieve the goals of the branch and organization.
  • Develop and implementstrategic plans that align with the organizations strategic directions mission and goals.
  • Monitor and evaluatethe progress of strategic initiatives making necessary adjustments to ensure successful .
  • Demonstrate agilityby adapting to changes in the internal and external environment and making timely decisions to keep the organization on track towards its goals.
Management
  • Work closely with Senior Director of Youth Development Services to prepare annual staffing and program budgets.
  • Ensure operational goals and objectives align with and advance the organizations strategic priorities.
  • Regularly implement strategies to promote team development and performance inclusive of but not limited to active listening team performance assessments coaching teambased learning recognition fun and transparent communications.
  • Strive to meet and surpass the expectations of youth families staff volunteers Board funders and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the planning implementation and evaluation of special projects.
  • Ensure spending stays within budgeted amounts get advance approval on expenditures as required meet allowable cost requirements and support the successful delivery of programs and services in alignment with all restricted funding sources expectations and requirements.
  • Finish work by established deadlines within the framework of established guidelines and policies.
  • Address issues and concerns in a professional respectful and courteous manner.
  • Ensure records are upto date accurate and organized.
  • Prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a way that meets daily responsibilities while continuing to work toward longerterm objectives.
Resource Development
  • Collaborate with Resource Development Team on internal/external media marketing and communication needs.
  • Participate in/attend a minimum of two special events each year.
  • Partner with Resource Development Team to foster current and potential stakeholder relations.
  • Train staff to understand how their actions and contributions to quality work and to maximization of resources enhance the organizations fundraising efforts and its overall financial health.
  • Participate in organizational fundraising efforts including donor stewardship activities Board engagement opportunities thirdparty events and special events.
Safety and Risk Management
  • Ensure branch facility equipment materials and properties are well maintained safe and operable.
  • Consistently assess risk in challenging situations acting with grace under pressure and making decisions with the organizations best interest in mind.
  • Ensure current safety practices meet or exceed organizational requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of new or amended new or amended policies practices and processes that further mitigate and minimize safety risks.
Human Resources Supervision and Talent Development
  • Support efforts to ensure the organization has an acceptable number of qualified staff and effective leadership and management structures to operate effectively and deliver programs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and guide your team to do so as well aligning efforts with the organizations values mission strategic priorities and policies.
  • Ensureworkplace operations comply with all relevant regulations policies and best practices.
  • Provide active supervision of all direct reports inclusive of ongoing coaching regular oneonone meetings performance evaluations goal setting and talent development.
  • Participate in available coaching opportunities regular oneonone meetings with supervisor performance evaluations and goal setting.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to learning and development by following talent development requirements ensuring your team does the same and creating and following a professional development plan.
  • Create and manage succession plans for key roles in your area of responsibility.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The Branch Director position requires a majority combination of the following:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in organizational leadership Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years in a leadership role in a Boys & Girls Club or similar nonprofit organization.
  • Demonstrated record of high character leading high performing teams and achieving outcomes.
Skills and Requirements
  • Has ability to work autonomously with appropriate guidance from supervisor.
  • Track record of inspiring empowering and supporting Youth Development team members to deliver superior results.
  • Proven ability to foster the development of cohesive and resilient teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey information in a timely open and clear manner.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computers software and other technology tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Working Conditions
Work will occur both in a climatecontrolled environment and outdoors with limited exposure to safety or health hazards. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets as well as nonhazardous program supplies and equipment such as basketballs paint markers billiard balls musical instruments etc. This role also requires the use of vehicles to transport youth and staff.
Physical Demands include:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move independently indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a phone and photocopier.
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to quickly detect safety concerns.
  • Must be able to move equipment and supplies required to perform the positions responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work effectively in an environment where the noise level may be loud at times.
