Job Description
Massachusetts CNA license is required.Completion of HS Diploma or equivalent. Strong communication skills ability tolift/transport patients are required. Acute care PCA experience is stronglypreferred.
Ellison 7 is a thirtysixbed adult inpatient unit. Patients on this unit are general surgical (mostly major abdominal procedures) and multi trauma patients. Four of the beds on the unit are dedicated to the Trauma Rapid Admission Care Unit (TRACU). It is designed to house trauma patients requiring close observation immediately following their initial crisis period in the Emergency Department. Ellison 7 is a fast paced exciting environment where the interventions are cutting edge. Patients come from all over the globe for the specialty care our nursing and physician staff provide.
Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multidisciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists multidisciplinary health care team by assisting patients with daily living needs monitoring & reading vital signs drawing blood obtaining EKGs. Must be able to work day/night rotation.
