As part of Wellington Managements Client Platform the Portfolio Advisor will represent a range of Wellington Management investment strategies in interactions with clients financial advisors and distribution firm gatekeepers.
Wellington offers flexibility in location however must be willing to travel as needed.
The Portfolio Advisor will work in close partnership with other Business Development Relationship Management Consultant Relations Product Management and Portfolio Management/Investment teams. This Portfolio Advisor must possess investment and market knowledge and breadth to cover multiple investment strategies as a portfolio manager proxy.Strategies primarily include fundamental equities but may from time to time include fixed income balanced funds and alternative investments and candidate will ideally have experience with the ETF sales ecosystem Topics the Portfolio Advisor will discuss include overview of the firm/investment organization; descriptions of multiple funds investment approaches portfolio positioning and performance drivers; benefits/differences of an ETF vehicle; and views on capital markets and the economy. The Portfolio Advisor will interface primarily with investment professionals and sales leaders at Wellingtons subadvisory clients as well as financial advisors and gatekeepers. The settings for presentations will include national sales meetings regional financial advisor meetings office visits as well as conference calls. Presentations will range from large group meetings to oneonone sessions (e.g. gatekeepers at financial institutions) to dinner conversations. This is a relationshipfocused partnership with our subadvisory clients as well as a salesoriented role. Must be willing to travel and must be comfortable presenting.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Acumen and passion The successful candidate will have a strong client and relationship management skills and be capable of and excited to present a wide variety of investment strategies with audience members of varying degrees of sophistication. The individual will have a minimum of 8 years of experience within the investment industry and have a solid understanding of the needs of a broad range of client needs across institutional and retail channels. While we anticipate direct and constant access to product and investment professionals this role requires the ability to effectively communicate the investment philosophy and performance of sophisticated investments. The Portfolio Advisor should also be capable of managing multiple clients and a variety of activity and needs. The position will require extensive travel up to 4050 of the time when appropriate to do so.
