We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our professional services firm client in St. Johns NL.If you have a passion for leadership and a proven track record in guiding accounting teams this is an excellent permanent opportunity to shape and develop a growing group of talented professionals.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Lead and mentor a team of bookkeepers and junior accountants providing direction and oversight on daytoday tasks
- Conduct firstlevel reviews of bookkeeping journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices
- Manage and oversee the monthend close process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Collaborate closely with senior management to ensure that all accounting functions align with company goals and objectives
- Identify highpotential junior accountants and provide training and support to help them progress to midlevel roles fostering their professional growth
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial regulations
Skills & Attributes for Success:
- CPA designation will be considered a strong asset but is not required
- 4 5 years fullcycle accounting experience with at least 2 years of management/leadership experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite (Excel)
- Strong team focus with the desire and ability to train and develop junior staff
- Superior leadership skills and desire to contribute to a cohesive team
- Experience with monthend processes and ability to conduct detailed reviews of accounting tasks
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
