Overview
Otterbein has an opening for a Building Maintenance Tech. The primary responsibility of the Building Maintenance Tech is to perform preventative maintenance and maintain equipment through out the congregate living buildings of the Community.
Shift: Full time 7:30am4pm and every 3rd weekend
Pay Range: $20hr to $23hr
Responsibilities
- Inspects installs cleans repairs and replaces pipes fitting and plumbing fixtures to maintain boilers water softeners heating water gas and drainage systems. Uses hand tools wrenches pipe cutters and threaders solder and welding torches and other tools and equipment as required.
- Repairs installs replaces and tests electrical circuits equipment and appliances to supply electrical power for lighting and equipment operation.
- Inspects installs repairs maintains and operates all types of refrigeration and auxiliary equipment.
- When repairs on systems are beyond inhouse capability makes recommendations as to requirements to complete the job.
- Estimates material requirements. Makes recommendations for re supply of bench stock tools and equipment.
- Is responsible for keeping their work areas clean and organized.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid drivers license and credible proof of insurability.
- Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Have skills in using hand and electrical tools and electrical tools. Have knowledge in plumbing heating and boilers.
