Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a Traffic Analyst 2 located in Memphis TN USA.
Reporting to the manager the potential candidate would be for the coordination and consolidation of internal and international systems to support shipments in the most costeffective manner to deliver maximum advantage to the company and its customers.
What a typical day looks like:
- Gather evaluate record and report on current market information regarding transportation methods.
- Work with the team to define company and customer needs and make recommendations on costeffective transportation methods.
- Assist in price negotiations if necessary.
- Ensure the lowest cost transportation by analyzing needs researching methods and auditing carrier costs and performances.
- Ensure compliance with laws rules and regulations regarding shipping/transportation methods and prepare applications for certifications and licenses.
- Maintain logs and compile information on routes rates and services from various vendors.
- Arrange shipping details such as packing shipping and routing of products.
- Evaluate and recommend transportation and freight costs as well as appropriate routing and carriers.
- Plan schedule and route inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments considering applicable laws tariffs and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update Traffic Metrics on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Establish and maintain relationships with agents/suppliers to achieve quality service and cost reduction.
- Schedule company vehicles for service and maintenance checks and ensure proper registration and insurance.
- Support the team in dealing with daily operational and transportation issues.
The experience were looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a Bachelor degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Must possess a working knowledge of shipping procedures and regulations.
- Must have a full working knowledge of rate structures and application of same to support requests from Program Managers and Global Account Managers as they relate to new business opportunities as well as increased business for existing customer base.
- Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of functional standards.. Ability to operate telephones data entry office software including word processing spreadsheets presentation packages and data base systems.
