QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in communications journalism or related field with five to seven years experience in a teamcentric digital communications environment with proven ability in social media management.
Proficiency in using web/social monitoring and analytic tools Microsoft Outlook and Office including Excel Word and PowerPoint and web site content management systems.
Proven ability to develop and manage strategic social media communications plan with multiple projects and deadlines
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively under the pressure of last minute deadlines and changing priorities.
Ability to effectively communicate complex and often scientific ideas in laypeoples terms essential.
Takes initiative and functions effectively both independently and as a member of a team with a willingness to assist with routine and last minute projects.
Exceptional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Busy office environment with frequent deadlines and telephone interruptions.
Responsibilities may require flexible working hours on occasion.
Position may require travel to Partners hospitals and offsite locations.

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
This position is responsible for developing overseeing and executing the social media strategy for the hospital. The key objective of this role is to ensure that all social media efforts align with overall communication and marketing strategies and that BWH remains at the forefront of effectively leveraging the social technology available to drive broader awareness and engagement. This position reports to the Manager of Media Relations in Communication & Public Affairs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop oversee and execute the strategy and daily management of BWH social media channels and all social media campaigns.
In collaboration with the Development Communications Web Marketing team Business Development and the Research and Innovation staff ensure integration of all digital communication efforts across the hospital. Collaborate with Brigham and Womens Faulkner Hospital as appropriate.
Regularly monitor and report on social media efforts to ensure institutional priorities are being met across all social channels.
Write copy for social media platforms and campaigns and contribute regularly to hospital blogs.
Assist thought leaders within the institution in developing social media strategies and leverage existing BWH social media influencers.
Research organize and execute strategic coordination with other social communities and influencers outside Brigham and Womens.
Supervise and support individual program social media efforts and lead a hospitalwide social media committee.
Oversee social listening to bring forward trends or opportunities and address relevant issues. Develop social media best practices guidelines and training materials to educate inform and guide employees in social media use.
