Job Description

Hart & Hickman PC (H&H) is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Professional with experience in performing asbestos surveys to join our expanding team in Charlotte NC. As an Environmental Professional Asbestos Specialist you will be responsible for identifying assessing and collecting samples from suspect asbestoscontaining materials located in residential commercial and industrial environments. Following the collection of samples you will be responsible for preparing a written report detailing the findings of the inspection. You will work closely with our team to perform and provide expert guidance on asbestos surveys abatement planning or maintenance of asbestoscontaining materials identified in good condition and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct asbestos surveys in accordance with local state and federal regulations.
  • Identify and assess the condition of suspect asbestoscontaining materials either friable or nonfriable on the interior and exterior of buildings.
  • Collect samples from a representative number of locations in accordance with Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) guidelines and other requirements.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting the findings of the inspection.
  • Provide recommendations to clients on the management of asbestoscontaining materials identified during the asbestos survey.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with contractors clients and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
  • Stay uptodate on industry regulations trends and new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health or a related field (preferred).
  • Current AHERA asbestos inspector training and subsequent refreshers.
  • North Carolina Asbestos Inspector Accreditation.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in performing asbestos inspections.
  • Indepth knowledge of local state and federal asbestos regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
