Doctoral degree or Registered Cardiac Sonographer preferred. MS degree or equivalent with education in scientific field of research.

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Located within the Brigham and Womens Hospital the Cardiac Imaging Core Lab (CICL) provides primarily quantitative echocardiogram analysis services for largescale cardiovascular clinical studies. The CICL is an academicoriented contract research organization serving both the pharmaceutical industry and federal sponsors. Functioning independently and under the general direction of the CICL Director and CoDirector the Research Specialist will assist with highlevel complex research including but not limited to echocardiographic analysis and data quality assurance. A motivated individual in this position may contribute to scientific publications and presentations at scientific meetings and will help investigate novel methods and technologies in the CICLs area of research.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as an integral part of the research team and provides general expertise and technical leadership.
2. Performs echocardiographic analysis of heart size and function in a high quality scientific and reproducible manner.
3. Implements and documents technical QC/QA procedures including the overreading of measurements and the reproducibility of analysis.
4. Assists with the creation testing and validation of study specific databases and analysis software.
5. Provides other echocardiographic technical research support as per the CICL Directors as it relates to the overall research scope of the CICL.
6. Maintain appropriate document control standards per SOPs.
