Job Description

Skills:

Required: Effective communication skills /ability to build rapport with others. A broad understanding/ experience with medical terminology. Organizational skills to work in an efficient orderly fashion. Comfortable speaking in front of groups and presenting grant updates. Posses above average familiarity with Word Excel and Power point and able to use these Microsoft office applications to track and present data and/or presentations with the use of these programs. Must possess a good memory for numbers and names. Normal or corrected vision for visual safety checks. Normal or corrected hearing for safe interaction with patients and medical staff.

Preferred: Clinical experience relating to the ordering of imaging procedures and results tracking. Project management experience

Experience:

: Minimum 5 years in a clinical setting. Project Management skills.

Preferred: Clinical experience preferred thoracic pulmonary radiology oncology or PCP office experience

Education/Degree requirements:

Required: Associate Degree in a health discipline

Preferred: Bachelors or higher

Licensure Certifications or Registration:

Under the administrative direction of the LDCT Lung Cancer and Nodule Management Program Medical Director the Pulmonary Nodule Navigators primary responsibility is to guide patients through the healthcare system by assisting with access issues developing relationships with service providers and tracking interventions and outcomes. The Pulmonary Nodule Navigator is responsible for assuring competent compassionate care for patients and families as they undergo pulmonary nodule screening and testing.The Navigator will facilitate the expeditious scheduling of patients and provide follow up of patients.The Navigator functions as the point person in the department whose role as the main coordinator is to work with diversified role groups and provider staff for the successful achievement of patient safety and excellence in the delivery of care for patients being screened for a pulmonary nodule or undergoing follow up studies.
