Find your purpose by becoming a Nursing Service Tech in the Float Pool at Rice Memorial Hospital!

What youll do:

  • Perform routine treatment procedures as directed.
  • Assists Staff Nurse in complicated treatment procedures.
  • Maintain traction supplies including traction cart every shift.
  • Complete all equipment set up as directed.
  • Report any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient.
  • Communicate any patient complaints of pain to patients nurse charge nurse or unit coordinator.
  • Assist in and as necessary accompany patient in the admission transfer and discharge procedures.
  • Provide and/or assists with personal care as necessary (i.e. baths dressing of patient personal hygiene etc.
  • Assist with patient care such as positioning patient lifting and turning patient with proper body mechanics applying/utilizing special equipment as necessary and ambulating the patient as directed.
  • Under supervision perform general care activities for patients in isolation.

Schedule:

  • 60 hours every two weeks 8 & 12 hour shifts
  • Rotating day evening and night shifts (all shifts)
  • Every 3rd weekend
