BA/BSdegree required. Coursework in biology or other premedical or related fields is not required but may be helpful.
Prior research experience not required.

Looking to get involved in cutting edge exercise performance testing and clinical research This Clinical Research Assistant position offers the opportunity to work directly with patients through assisting with exercise performance testing in the MGH Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Laboratory. In addition responsibilities will include obtaining and maintaining patient data and study records conducting data analysis on exercise studies submitted to the MGH Exercise Core Laboratory and working on all aspects of clinical exercise testing and clinical research project design implementation and communication of results. The ability to work independently is a must. This is the ideal position for someone looking to work with a dedicated group of people to further the advance clinical research in cardiopulmonary diseases while gaining invaluable medical and research experience.
Major Duties:
Assists will all aspects of cardiopulmonary exercise testing including metabolic cart calibration and preparation blood gas and chemistry analyses and data reporting
Participates in research protocols involving subjects undergoing cardiopulmonary exercise testing
Actively participates in clinical studies including institutional review board (IRB) documentation
Records and analyzes data from cardiopulmonary exercise studies submitted to the MGH exercise core laboratory
May assist with writing protocols and manuscripts for submission to research journals
Works closely with exercise lab staff and the primary investigator (physician) to prepare complete study reports
