About this position
The Exchange Aide is responsible for performing all duties related to counting picking and distribution of requested supplies instruments and equipment to the surgical suite. The Exchange Room Aide receives direction from the SPD management and the surgical team to meet the goals of the customer shift department and organization. Oversees the exchange room items (sutures instrumentation equipment) ensuring accuracy in case cart completion. Provides quick response to requests for items to the OR suite and maintains parlevel stock in OR suites. Performs monitors and logs Immediateuse Steam Sterilization (IUSS).
Requirements
Education
High School graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
Experience
Minimum one 1 year experience inventory control preferably in an OR health care setting.
Medical terminology experience preferred.
Customer Service experience preferred. Proficient in oral and written communication using English language sufficient to perform functions of position
Knowledge of and skilled in computer software applications.
Ability to multitask and prioritize
