Job Description

Are you passionate about designing innovative logistics solutions Do you have a keen understanding of transportation modes and project logistics Join us at Maersk Project Logistics where we work to provide integrated and tailored solutions for our clients across North America and globally.

As a Solutions Design Manager youll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing transportation solutions collaborating with a variety of subcontractors and service providers. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team supporting both internal stakeholders and clients. Youll focus on designing efficient solutions that include ocean freight airfreight barge truck rail and other transport modes as well as managing warehouses export packers terminals and cargo handling companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Transport Solutions: Work with approved Maersk subcontractors and service providers to create and manage pricing and logistics for cargo transported both within North America and internationally.
  • Support Major Bids: Assist the MPL Growth team with major bid proposals ensuring all modes of transport are considered (ocean air truck barge rail) and that accurate pricing is provided.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on project logistics and transportation infrastructure in North America including specialized heavy and oversized cargo handling.
  • Provider Recommendations: Evaluate and recommend the best service providers based on cost reliability and service requirements.
  • Work with Cargowise and Excel: Prepare pricing proposals for oversized and heavy cargo transport using Cargowise and other software including creating larger project logistics bid packages when necessary.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships with service providers and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Travel: Occasionally travel for meetings conferences or site visits.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Project Logistics Expertise: Strong knowledge of the project logistics market in North America including experience with subcontractors and all transport modes (ocean air truck barge rail).
  • Network Knowledge: Familiarity with Maersks container network and trade lanes and awareness of external ocean freight options (including other container carriers and breakbulk operators).
  • Regulatory Understanding: Knowledge of the regulatory framework and commitment to operating within Maersks QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment) standards.
  • Evaluation Skills: Ability to evaluate and recommend the most effective and costefficient solutions for clients.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills ensuring clear and concise interactions with internal teams and external clients.

Pay Range: $100000 $120000 USD*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
