Job Posting Summary
- The Speech and Hearing Center at Mercy University Dobbs Ferry Campus is seeking a Parttime Clinical Educator to supervise graduate student clinicians beginning Spring 2024 Semester. Preferred specialty in childhood apraxia of speech and/or speech sound disorders.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide direct clinical supervision treatment sessions
- Comply with the ASHA standards of supervision for inperson and remote sessions
- Adhere to ASHA and NYS ethical standards for clinical practice in speechlanguage pathology
- Assist students to provide clinical services in a culturally competent manner using clientcentered and familycentered practices
- Meet individually with student clinicians at least weekly and as needed. Includes planning and orientation for new cases
- Provide both summative and formative constructive feedback to the student
- Edit student clinical documentation
- Schedule and complete student conferences at midterm and final
- Ensure students have maintained accurate clinical records and clock hours (lesson plans SOAP notes treatment plans and progress reports)
- Approve clinic clock hours on Calipso
- Evaluate students clinical competencies on CALIPSO
- Submit grade recommendations to the Clinic Director at midterm and final
Qualifications
- Masters degree
Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology (CCCSLP) New York State Licensure required. At least 3 years of supervision experience preferred
Clinical Educators are required to complete 2 hours of continuing education on clinical supervision
Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.
