Job Description
Education:Highschool graduate
License: MA PharmacyTechnician Registration required Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
Experience:Previousexperience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting preferred
Work Schedule:Rotatingshift including weekends and holidays

Responsible for participation inpharmacy operations medication distribution inventory control Omnicellusage and maintenance of personal technical competency.
Technical skills required include expertise inOmnicell use and medication preparation. Additionally provides exemplarycustomer service contributes to the efficient operation and productivity ofthe Pharmacy Department and displays the interest and motivation to achieveexcellence in pharmacy practice in the institutional setting.
Essential job functions include:
DistributionResponsibility
- Preparespharmaceutical preparations in a quality manner under the direction of thepharmacist utilizing pharmacy software and hardware systems
- PerformsOmnicell pharmacy functions
- Executesmedication distribution
InventoryResponsibility
- Ensuresthat and supplies are available in the department and designated hospitalcare areas by maintaining appropriate inventories
- Performsmonthly inspection of pharmacy inventory to identify expired or damagedpharmaceuticals
OperationalResponsibility
- Maintainsconfidentiality of patient and departmental information
- Providespositive supportive and courteous communications to patients familiesvisitors and hospital personnel at all times
- Identifiesown learning needs by seeking assistance from pharmacist and administrativeteam
- Documentsmaintenance of technical skills appropriate to pharmacy technician
