- Provide timely support for operational activities.
- Responsible for the production and care of field & greenhouse plants. Activities include: soil preparation sowing planting weed control pollination pest and disease monitoring pesticide application fertilization irrigation and harvesting. Maintain proper documentation.
- Assist with the development and evaluation of breeding material including trial preparation disease screening sample and data collection pollination seed processing and treatment.
- Assist with seed inventory management.
- Responsible for general maintenance of the greenhouse facility irrigation system and equipment.
- Execute crop programs to the expectations of the breeding and research staff.
- Lead and train temporary and seasonal workers to conduct greenhouse and field activities.
- Coordinate with other technicians for supplies management purchases tasks and workers allocation.
- Implement proper cultural management of different crops including cleanliness of the farms and nurseries.
- Support HSE compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma.
- AS or BS college degree in an agriculture-related field is preferred (Seed Technology Horticulture Plant Sciences Breeding Agronomy).
- Experience related to plant science or horticulture is preferred.
- Training or experience in one or more of the following areas: vegetable crop production seed multiplication agricultural quality assurance seed technology plant breeding or plant pathology.
- Leadership skills attention to detail enthusiasm for active learning and an interest in plant biology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Computer literacy is required and good organizational abilities.
- The position requires the ability to work for long periods in both field and greenhouse environments and work on weekends and off-office hours.
- The successful candidate will be expected to obtain a CO pesticide license.
Additional Information :
Salary for this role is $39200 to $58800 per year.
