The Role: General Help
Pollock Orora is seeking a General Help to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to kick start your career with an industry leader for bestinclass packaging solutions. This role will perform various production functions to produce and deliver highquality custom and stock corrugated products to customers.
This position will report to the: Plant Supervisor
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Location: Grand Prairie TX
What Youll be Responsible For in this Role
- Assist Plant Superintendent Production Supervisors Machine Operators and Machine Assistants as needed.
- Assist in stacking corrugated sheets on pallets for next operation or as finished product for shipment to customer
- Assist in handstripping of the trim from products and/or bundling if required.
- Performs machine cleanup as needed.
- Performs general janitorial services including dumping trash moving waste corrugated to baler area and stocking janitorialsupplies.
- May assist in receiving janitorial and office supplies.
- Follows all applicable Safe Operating Procedures and Safety rules.
- Learn Stacker Primary Duties and Responsibilities.
- Responsible to learn next step in line of progression to relieve for lunch/breaks and vacation.
- Cross train with team members
- Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.
What Were Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year of warehouse or related experience or training
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated mathematic ability: able to add subtracts multiply and divide in all units of measurement common fractionsdecimals etc. Ability to convert from fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. Ability to use tape measure.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions.
- Must be able to read write and speak English.
- Ability to use specific computer software to enter and utilize information in our computer business systems.
Physical Demands and Environment
- Lifting Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling). Able to up lift 25 lbs. without assistance.
- Pulling: Able to pull up to 50 pounds frequently with equipment.
- Carrying Transporting an object usually holding it in the hands or arms or on the shoulder.
- Sitting Remaining in a normal seated position while driving from and to locations
- Stooping Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
- Handling Seizing holding grasping turning or otherwise working with the hand or hands.
