DATES OF ASSIGNMENT: ASAP 6/26/25
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a valid NYS teaching certification in Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
ESSENTIAL CORE CHARACTERISTICS:
- Must be willing to travel between buildings.
- Must adhere to confidentiality requirements;
- Demonstrate best practice instructional strategies when working with students according to IEP goals;
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers and other members of the students teams;
- Experience with various devices needed to enhance student access to learning
PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- Experience providing vision services in a school setting;
- Good communication skills;
- Willing to initiate conversations to ensure proper process and procedures are followed;
- Experience using Frontline program;
- Good record/documentation keeping;
- Great organizational skills to deliver and complete required tasks sessions and documents in a professional detailed accurate manner.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver instruction in one on one or small group sessions according to IEP goals per student;
- Design plans and activities to engage each student;
- Keep attendance records;
- Record performance data monitoring student progress;
- Prepare and participate in CSE meeting to review student performance and report on progress toward IEP goals;
- Collaborate with team members in communication with parents;
- Work collaboratively with team members on students behalf.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Student Service
Long Term Sub Rate: $160/day
