Job Description
The purpose of this position is to teach Welding and related courses at the WITCC Denison campus. The instructor will be responsible for course instruction and classroom management for students who are preparing to enter the field of welding. Other duties include but are not limited to teaching laboratory sessions curriculum development/restructuring committee assignments student academic advising student recruitment and responsibility for materials and supplies. All candidates interviewed will be required to provide a teaching demonstration. This is a fulltime 176day instructional position working AugustMay SUMMERS OFF with an opportunity for a continuing contract status that is contingent upon Board approval and funding. Teaching assignments may include variable hours at various sites including days evenings and/or weekends. Teaching assignments may include variable modes of instruction including facetoface hybrid and online classes. There may be opportunity to teach during the summer semester. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Three years work experience in the welding field. Effective oral and written communication and human relation skills. Effective organizational skills particularly as they relate to the teachinglearning process. Demonstrated experience in student learning and teaching excellence. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Degree in welding field. American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector/Welding Educator. Experience and education in other career and technical fields. An understanding of the community college philosophy and the community college student. Experience with alternative learning delivery methods and systems. Commitment to cultural diversity among students faculty and in the curriculum. Experience in delivering computerenhanced laboratory simulations. Computer experience in common software and Internet Successful teaching experience.
