Dispatcher/Shuttle Bus Driver

Location: Washington D.C. (Naval Research Laboratory)

Type: Full Time NonExempt

Compensation: $27.17$27.17/hr.

Work Schedule: Fulltime Day Shift

Tessera is seeking a responsible and organized Dispatcher with a positive attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains a system of gathering information to update vehicle inventory daily/monthly Motor Transport reports and service records by ensuring that outgoing odometer mileage destination and estimated time of return as well as return odometer mileage return time information from vehicle users and other observable necessary maintenance and repair work are recorded

  • Ensures all vehicles/equipment checked out are in a clean safe and serviceable condition.

  • Assigns vehicles to drivers to provide transportation for approved government business while insuring the efficient and effective use of vehicles and drivers.

  • Monitors the actual release and return of vehicles to ascertain the current location and user of each vehicle by establishing and/or maintaining a standard system of recording the release of the vehicle to and the return of the vehicle from the user.

  • Schedules servicing of vehicles including lubrication oil and filter changes body and engine repair tires necessary warranty work and cleaning of vehicles to ensure efficient and sound operating condition.

  • Drive minibus or van as needed to transport trainees government and/or military personnel to destinations according to their assigned schedule Responsible for building and shop cleanliness on a routine basis.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three 3 years of military or DoD experience with a Transportation/Dispatcher background preferred.

  • Must have excellent spatial and reasoning skills.

  • Must have knowledge of D.C. roads and in surrounding areas.

  • Must have the skills and ability to utilize GPS tracking devices.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

  • Proficient in computer programs to include MS Word an Excel.

  • Must be mechanically inclined.

Requirements:

  • Valid CDL A and B with passenger endorsement is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookums insurance carrier.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and EVerify will be conducted for this position.
