General Maintenance Worker

Location: Fort Riley Kansas Fort Riley TFM

Type: NonExempt
Work Schedule: FullTime Day Shift

Compensation: $18.55 $18.55 per hour

Tessera is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist skilled workers in performing various electrical carpentry plumbing or masonry work.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of building ground and equipment.
  • Communicates and interacts directly with the customer and supervisors informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.
  • Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
  • Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs estimate completion dates and additional material requirements.
  • Follows all Safety Procedures and Policies.

Qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience in general maintenance/construction work and/or training with aptitude to perform the work preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a casebycase basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state drivers license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tesseras insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and EVerify will be conducted for this position.

Per our government contract 2.1.11.3 All Contractor employees shall be legal U.S. residents. The Contractor shall immediately remove an employee that is not a legal U.S. resident. The Contractor personnel shall be able to communicate clearly in the English language.
