GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Under the direct supervision from the Administrative Director for Research the Grant Coordinator provides administrative support in the preparation of grants across the Department monitoring of budgetary performance coordinating new hires processing Visa applications and submission of required reports for designated grants and contracts.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PreAward Duties Works with Principal Investigators and their support staff to coordinate all aspects of grant submission through InfoEd proposal development; review budgets to ensure proposal compliance with Hospital and grantor policies and procedures as well as those of subcontracting institutions. Reviews grant applications prior to submission to Research Management to ensure compliance with institutional and funding agencys regulations. Alert investigators to any necessary changes. Maintain files of all submitted grant applications. Functions as resource person in clarification of policies and works with Principal Investigators to achieve compliance. Ensure timely setup of new funds. Works closely with the Principal Investigators and with the Sr. Grants Administrators to ensure timely submission of applications progress reports and other required documents.PostAward Duties Assist with fund monitoring monthly to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist with processing of Journal Entries to reallocate improperly charged expenses In coordination with Research Finance oversees contract billing and receivables. Assist Principal Investigators with the electronic submission of their biannual effort certification reports. Coordinates and prepares reports for postaward meetings with Sr. Grant Administrators and Administrative Director.Human Resource Duties Works with HR and Principal Investigators on the administrative components involved in hiring new staff Works with Partners Office for International Professionals & Students (PIPS) on administrative documents needed for hiring International Staff Coordinates Merit Review process with Investigators for the processing of monthly reviewsOther Duties Kronos timekeeping for weekly staff Assist with special project assignments related to Departmental Reporting and metrics
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma requiredBachelors Degree preferredMinimum of 1 year of related experience required

The position requires excellent organizational skills and flexibility in order to meet grant deadlines. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Word Excel and Internet applications. Accounting and analytical skills Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly Excellent interpersonal/communication skills Highly goal oriented and selfmotivated.
