Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Shop/Field Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance repairs and fabrication on heavy and lightduty trucks as well as mobile and earthmoving equipment.
Safety First: We maintain a safe drugfree workplace. A preemployment drug screening and background check are required.
- Prioritizes SAFETY then QUALITY followed by PRODUCTION.
- Ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment; report to work on time as scheduled.
- Conducts major repairs to all types of equipment (Light duty trucks Heavy duty trucks and Construction equipment) as required to ensure proper working condition (dismantle/reassemble/rebuild equipment fabricate parts and equipment).
- Perform fabrication/welding and repair to processing and mobile equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and minimize down time.
- Perform annual inspections evaluations and repairs.
- Maintain an accurate schedule and record of all equipment along with vehicle maintenance logs and reports.
- Perform duties in both a shop and field environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math reading and writing skills are required (English).
- Basic computer skills. (Open Excel files and use Outlook for email).
- Must be safety oriented and exhibit safe work habits at all times.
- Punctual and reliable. Excellent attendance required.
- Minimum 5 years of automotive repair heavy equipment and/or onhighway truck maintenance experience or related field that showcases skills with mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Technical training may be a substitute for some experience requirement.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions or in shop.
- Most hours will be in the shop but will need to perform onsite repairs from time to time.
- Able to lift 75 pounds.
- Willing to work overtime.
- Able to work from elevated platforms or confined spaces.
- Must be able to pass preemployment physical/drug/alcohol test.
- Prefer you supply and use your own good working set of mechanics tools.
