Description

Were seeking acapable Registered Nurse (RN) with 4 years of PACU experience preferred. Our Registered Nurses are integral members of interprofessional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care.

  • Regarded as clinical expert and role model in application of the nursing process and evidencebased practice to manage the complex care needs of specific patient populations. Serves as a resource person to physicians nurses patients and family members.
  • Applies principles of adult learning to plan and conduct educational sessions to promote staff development student competence and positive patient/family outcomes. Role models expert communication skills to colleagues through example.
  • Demonstrates foresight regarding the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes based on intuition and experience. Is recognized as an expert clinician and a leader within their area of specialty
  • Provides and coordinates the resources needed within the unit to provide optimal patient outcomes. Ensures compliance and adherence with stated policies and procedures for the unit.
  • Facilitates development of unit preceptors including effective delegation and interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinates unit based clinical orientation program for new staff students and preceptors. Works with preceptors to individualizes unit orientation. Assists departmental or unit teams in the developing annual competency checklists.
  • Collaborates with management and patient/family advisory council to develop standardized teaching materials for patient and family learning needs
  • Respects and maintains confidential information. Meets all Clinical Nurse I Employee Commitments. Achieves points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing.
  • Two yrs experience as an RN with a minimum of two years of experience in the area of concentration.
  • Must have a valid active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. Nursing certification preferred.
  • Completion of formal preceptor training workshop. BLS required and ACLS may be required in designated departments. If promoted internally or hired externally the incumbent must complete UNE criteria requirements within nine months of promotion or hire including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488.

Join our team today! Our PACU Nurses care for a variety of patients: General GYN Urology Bariatrics Robotics Orthopedics Neurosurgery Podiatry ENT Skull Base OMFS and Plastics.

  • Number of Rooms: 20 rooms make up both 1st/2nd levels; 5 Endoscopy rooms
  • Nursing scope of practice: Our PACU staff are critically care trained to recovers all surgical patients (ORs) Endoscopy patients Interventional Radiology patients who received General Anesthesia and Cath Lab/EP Lab/COA (cardia OBS Area) patients after 4pm. Some patients we care for in PACU are ventilated and/or on drips.
  • Daily patient population: Approximately 50
  • Staffing Hours: 7:30am10:30pm Monday through Friday; We have weekends Holidays and weeknights (MonFri) On call requirements
  • Other Info: All nurses all are crosstrained to work both Pre op and PACU. There is a 612 week orientation depending on experience.
