You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a talented individual to join our Sales team at Mercer. This role will be based in our Calgary office however we are open to other areas of Western Canada where we have a Mercer office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Business Development Professional of HR Services & Solutions you will cover our business development needs in Calgary and the Western region of Canada. You will join a national sales team of Sales Professionals across Canada focusing on midmarket prospects new to Mercer and introducing new services to existing clients. By engaging with a variety of seniorlevel individuals and decisionmakers you will promote solutions that address a broad set of workforce requirements including traditional benefits and wellness strategies workforce compensation and rewards HR transformation and employee engagement solutions.
We will count on you to:
Achieve sales goals by identifying business opportunities with prospective and current customers in the small and medium market segments.
Develop implement and maintain an effective territory sales plan based on the local market opportunity.
Actively build a pipeline through a variety of prospecting activities (cold calling inbound lead management and leveraging existing client relationships).
Lead complex sales cycles from the identification stage to closing.
Write and oversee effective proposals that articulate a compelling value proposition and demonstrate the unique value of the Mercer solutions.
Leverage an understanding of all operating company solutions and work collaboratively with the broader Mercer team to identify new revenue opportunities.
Be an active member in professional organizations and attend relevant events to expand and maintain a large professional network represent the company and gain exposure and insight into various specialties.
What you need to have:
Minimum of 7 years sales experience in businesstobusiness sales preferably in the professional HR consulting services industry.
A consultative sales approach with experience selling products services and solutions.
Strong written verbal and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under stress.
Driven and motivated.
Proper insurance industry license not required upon hire but will need to be obtained within 6 months.
