General Summary/Overview:
The Accounting and Budgets Lead works closely with the department manager to ensure daily and monthly financial operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daytoday supervision for three analysts; provide feedback to department manager for performance evaluations.
- Coordinate monthly close process and generate accurate and timely internal financial statements.
- Review monthly reconciliations supporting all balance sheet accounts for the Management Service Organization (MSO) and the physician practices.
- Work with analysts to research and resolve unreconciled general ledger accounts for the MSO and practices.
- Evaluate and analyze reporting related to the monthly closing cycles; make recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor internal controls in the daily operations of PCPO Finance the MSO and practices. Make recommendations for improvements where needed.
- Manage and maintain the position control system database and reporting.
- Coordinate the PCPO budget and forecast submissions to PHS.
- Assist in the coordination of the yearend external audit process.
- Coordinate the budget and financial reporting requirements of the HPM activities.
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 57 years work experience with some supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
- Ability to work successfully with all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to multitask and work with limited direction.
- Must be detail oriented ambitious reliable and self motivated.
- Superior Microsoft Excel skills required.
- System knowledge of PeopleSoft Accounting and MS Access preferred.
- Ability to see the big picture and be able to focus on specific areas in need of improvement.
- Strong work ethic required.
