Position: Postdoctoral Research FellowResearch areas: Iron biology molecular and cellular biology animal models genetics biochemistryDescription:A Postdoctoral Fellow is sought to work in the Program in Membrane Biology/Division of Nephrology/Center for Systems Biology at the Massachusetts General Hospital.The goal of our research program is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in iron homeostasis and to develop new therapeutic strategies to treat iron disorders such as anemia of chronic disease thalassemia and hemochromatosis. We employ a multidisciplinary approach including molecular and cell biology biochemistry and animal models.Requirements: Candidates for this position must have an M.D. or Ph.D (or equivalent) in the biomedical sciences. Successful applicants will have an experimental background in molecular and cellular biologybiochemistry and animal studies a strong publication record and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
