Job Description

Classification Title:

OPS Special Project

Job Description:

Solution Design and Development

Assist staff member as they develop AIdriven solutions to automate the identified processes.

Employ programming languages and AI frameworks to create functional prototypes

Process Identification and Definition

Assist UF/IFAS Extensions AIBI Team EBS and the steering committee in identifying and defining critical administrative and operational processes suitable for AIdriven automation within a 12week timeframe.

Learn to utilize process mapping tools to document current workflows and pinpoint areas for improvement

Implementation and Testing

Assist UF/IFAS Extensions AIBI Team and EBS to implement and beta test new AIdriven tools.

Help staff that are developing training materials and user guides to facilitate the adoption of new tools.

Reporting and Documentation

Maintain comprehensive documentation of project progress challenges and outcomes.

Assist staff who while they present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship.

Expected Salary:

$16/hourly

Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: Current enrollment as a graduate student at the University of Florida preferably in Computer Science Data Science Information Systems or a related field.
  • Experience: Familiarity with AI technologies programming languages (e.g. Python R) and data analysis tools. Experience with process automation projects is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills effective communication abilities and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

REQUIRED LICENSES CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW.

THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE RULES OF UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA 6C13.022 FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION; PAYMENT TO VENDORS; PAYMENT PROCESSING GUIDELINES AS AMENDED REGARDING THE APPROVAL AND/OR PROCESSING OF VENDORS INVOICES AND/OR DISTRIBUTION OF WARRANTS TO VENDORS.

THIS POSITION ARE SUBJECT TO FEDERAL AND STATE PRIVACY REGULATIONS.

This is a timelimited UF Grad Student 12week Summer of 2025 AI/BI position.

All UF Student Employment rules will apply.

SUPERVISION:

  • Received: General direction from the immediate supervisor with detailed procedures explained as new responsibilities are added. The supervisor is available for solving problems and maintaining quality.
  • Exercised: These positions do not supervise other employees.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional adjustments may be required based on project needs. This position is an inperson without remote work option.
