Job Description
Job Description:
We are looking for a Scrum Master with cloud experience to coordinate our cloud projects and to coach our cloud engineering team in the use of Agile methodologies. HMHs cloud engineering team is responsible for delivering and managing cloud environments to meet the needs of multiple internal customers. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is the primary cloud platform and Azure is secondary.
Responsibilities:
Manage the scope and timeline for each project/work stream; facilitate release definition cycles and planning
Coordinate sprints retrospective meetings and daily standups to keep team focused on current sprint goals
Coach team members in Agile frameworks including the definition and upkeep of achievable user stories; drive stories during sprints to foster business value for product
owners; guide development teams to higher scrum maturity
Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet stakeholders needs and expectations
Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration
Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders)
Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests
Understand and actively manage the capacity of the team including challenging product owners on prioritization
Escalates roadblocks issues or risks to project scope timelines and/or quality of work
Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint
Maintain and reports team performance/metrics
Requirements and Skills:
Experience in a scrum master role
Familiarity with cloud SecDevOps
Familiarity with most of the following technologies (GCP Ubuntu Red Hat Terraform GitHub GitHub Actions)
Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done user stories automated testing backlog refinement)
Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks (Crystal XP etc.
Excellent communication and servant leadership skills
Problemsolving and conflictresolution ability
Outstanding organizational skills
Education:
Degree in Computer Science Business or similar field
Scrum master certification is strongly preferred or comparable experience
Experience and knowledge of cloud platform engineering preferred
Initial engagement for 12 months. Opportunity to be extended.
