Job Description
Job Title: Estimator
Location: Shafter CA
Job Type: FullTime Direct Hire
Pay: $30 $35 an hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detailoriented and motivated Estimator to join our team. This role will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and project proposals by gathering information analyzing data and collaborating with internal and external teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in estimating project planning or construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing cost estimates for projects based on drawings specifications and other documentation
Collect and analyze data on labor materials and production time
Communicate with subcontractors suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing.
Help review and interpret plans and specifications to understand project scope.
Support the creation of bid packages and proposals.
Maintain organized records of estimates quotes and supporting documentation
Work closely with project managers engineers and other team members
Attend prebid meetings and site visits as needed
Continuously update knowledge of industry trends materials and pricing
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; certifications and relevant training are a plus.
3 years of relevant experience preferred.
Strong math and analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with estimating software is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings (training will be provided)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Eagerness to learn and grow in a fastpaced environment
Preferred Skills (not required):
Internship or coop experience in construction manufacturing or related fields
Familiarity with takeoff software (e.g. Bluebeam PlanSwift Procore McCormick Systems or similar)
Knowledge of basic construction or production processes
