Our client a Financial Investment and Loan solution company is looking to hire a Legal and Compliance Officer.
Job Summary
The Legal and Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the company adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements while managing internal compliance policies and procedures. This role involves providing legal counsel mitigating risks handling regulatory filings and ensuring ethical business practices.
Responsibilities:
Legal Duties:
- Draft review and negotiate contracts agreements and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice on business operations policies and corporate governance.
- Oversee dispute resolution and litigation and liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local national and international laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research and advise management on regulatory developments.
- Assist in protecting company intellectual property (e.g. trademarks copyrights).
Compliance Duties:
- Develop implement and monitor compliance policies procedures and frameworks.
- Ensure regulatory filings licenses and permits are updated and renewed as required.
- Conduct risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance risks.
- Train employees on regulatory requirements company policies and ethical standards.
- Investigate compliance violations and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on legal and compliance matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Law (LLB) or related field; a Master s degree is a plus.
- Cognate years of experience in legal compliance or regulatory roles.
- Certification in compliance or risk management (Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional).
- Knowledge of international regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR AML ISO Compliance).
- Experience in (finance healthcare real estate etc..
- Strong understanding of corporate commercial and regulatory laws.
- Experience in contract drafting negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and risk assessment skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity confidentiality and attention to detail.
