Job Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Landscape Designer I or II in our Richmond VA office. Our awardwinning landscape architecture and land planning team offers an extensive range of services for commercial mixeduse parks and open space energy and renewables campus and institution multifamily and government clients across multiple markets. Our studio strives to create dynamic places that achieve timeless appeal and are tailored to our clients goals and the communities we serve. Candidates should be passionate about the built environment selfmotived love design at all levels and comfortable working in a collaborative studio culture. Essential Roles and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

 

Design and Technical Production 8590

  • Collaborate with project managers and team members on a variety of project types and scales.
  • Assist project teams with development of landscape plans through all phases of work including site inventory concept design schematic design design development and construction documents.
  • Prepare illustrative design plans and 3D renderings as needed.
  • Assist teams in preparing construction cost estimates.
  • Act as an advocate for landscape architecture at Timmons Group.

Administrative Management and Training 1015

  • Attend weekly meetings to coordinate projects and workplans.
  • Attend monthly design team meetings and act as a design resource for projects and department standards.
  • Participate in training and onboarding of new employees.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program is preferred but a nonaccredited degree in landscape architecture may be considered.
  • New graduates or professionals with up to 2 years experience in landscape architecture for Landscape Designer I is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in landscape architecture for Landscape Designer II is preferred.
  • Team player with excellent design graphic and communication skills.
  • Creative openminded and organized.
  • Knowledge of plants and experience in developing landscape plans.
  • Experience in producing highquality concept drawings and presentations.
  • Experience in producing construction documentation drawings administration and field work.
  • Experience in design software including AutoCAD Land F/X Adobe Creative Suite SketchUp and 3D modeling programs.
  • Experience with GIS is a bonus.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Suite applications BlueBeam PDF and construction management software(s).
