Emergency Physician FullTime
Join our team in beautiful Northern Ontario!
The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is seeking a fulltime Emergency Physician to join our innovative multidisciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Timmins.
The Emergency Department at the Timmins and District Hospital sees an average of 100120 patients per day 40000 visits annually). As a district hospital serving a catchment area of 110000 we offer a comprehensive community practice with access to most major specialties and imaging modalities such as MRI CT and Nuclear Medicine.
There is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
You will be joining a close knit team that provides exceptional patient and familydriven care in a supportive traumainformed and culturally safe manner. We are looking for passionate driven individuals to join us in our Mission: Providing Exemplary Care to Northerners.
Position Requirements
Candidates must:
- have (or be eligible for) Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Emergency Medicine CCFPEM (preferred) or CCFP
- be (or eligible to be) licensed to practice as an Emergency Physician (or Family Physician) in the Province of Ontario
- have (or be eligible for) certification in ACLS or ATLS
- have (or be be eligible to obtain) Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage
- have excellent clinical skills
- have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care
Remuneration
Compensation is based on a combination of a hourly wage FeeforService and a lucrative Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan.
Incentives
- The Timmins and District Hospital provides an incentive package up to $60000 over four years.
- Applicants are eligible for a repayable interestfree loan up to $150000.
- Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84718 incentive over a 4year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a fulltime practice in Timmins.

The Timmins and District Hospital is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical Surgical Critical Care Maternal/Child Long Term Care and Mental Health and Addiction Services. Affiliated with the NOSM University in addition to several colleges and universities in Ontario our hospital actively supports ongoing learning opportunities for medical residents and learners postsecondary and high school students.
