Teledyne e2v has been trusted to design and deliver CCD and CMOS imaging sensors and subsystems for over 150 space missions by the worlds largest space agencies including NASA ESA JAXA CSA and recently for the Russianled World Space Observatory. We offer space imaging supply chain management including space qualified imaging sensors arrays and subsystems for space science earth observation and astronomy; helping solve the mysteries of the Universe and understanding climate change on Earth. We have an opportunity for a Product Assurance Engineer to join our existing Product Assurance Team reporting to the Product Assurance Manager.

The Product Assurance Engineer is required to provide support to the Business Unit supplying high quality custom image sensors Front End electronics and Optical Systems to external customers such as NASA & ESA prime contractors. Customerfocussed the Product Assurance Engineers role is to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded through effective project planning (bid & and control and in the event of escapes to ensure that appropriate root cause investigation takes place and that corrective and preventive action is planned tested and implemented.

Working with the project teams the project assurance team and the customer the PA Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the design and manufacturing risk (in terms of quality) is identified evaluated and mitigated through the demonstration of existing heritage and/or new design and manufacturing process validation with a particular focus on the assurance of EEE components mechanical parts materials and processes. In addition prompt identification and prioritisation of nonconformance ensuring nonconformance is managed with clearly defined containment identification of root cause and effective implementation of corrective action at project and management systems level will play a key part in the role.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The role holder will provide support to EEE parts engineering procurement and selection process including the generation and review of project documentation (PADs Declared Components Lists Qualification Status List etc. support to Parts Control Boards (including assessment and approval of EEE components) declared lists management and the input and maintenance of project information in external databases (e.g. ESA declared materials and process database and Eclipse).

The role holder will support the Reliability Availability Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) programme for the project in line with ESA requirements including generation and review of project documentation (Reliability Analysis FMEA FMECA WCA RHA etc. and the input and maintenance of project information in external databases (e.g. FIDES and Eclipse).

In the event of failure or nonconformance the role holder will provide guidance into recommendation and root cause analysis and support/chair NRBs.

The role holder will fulfil Product Assurance roles as directed by the Product Assurance Manager to support the growth of the Business Unit and any transformational activities identified (including taking a flexible and adaptable approach) and be prepared to think outside the box to address areas of concern (if applicable) and actively participate in providing support to other Teledyne companies across the globe (through training and significant periods of onsite support).

Skills & Experience Essential Qualifications:

To succeed in this role you must have a proven track record in Product/Quality Assurance preferably within space aerospace or defence industries a broad background in design and production for electromechanical parts and systems (with assemblies with electronics and software experience an advantage) a knowledge of highreliability parts and materials good attention to detail and a confident combined with a professional approach.

In addition proven structured approach to problem solving with experience of quality tools and methodologies and ability to lead problem solving Teams ability in MS Office good communication skills (written and verbal) and personal values in line with ours: Agility Integrity Excellence throughout and Customers first.

Desired Qualifications

Degree preferred however as a minimum HNC/HND in Electronic/Mechanical Engineering.
