The Clinical EvaluatorPhysical Therapist II will join Dr. Joshua Burns new St. Jude Faculty Member and the Jewelers Charity Fund Endowed Chair to establish the Disability Prevention Program encompassing a new Gait & Mobility Lab to complement the Human Performance Lab to study precision measurement of childhood cancer survivors through to personalized medicine for pediatric neurological diseases in collaboration with the Center for Experimental Neurotherapeutics. The Clinical EvaluatorPhysical Therapist II will work with the team to restore gait and mobility in the most disabling disorders of childhood.

Performs reliable research evaluations as part of clinical trials and cohort studies to understand the severity rate of progression and response to interventions in catastrophic childhood conditions. Performs accurate functional assessments for research protocols in the Gait & Mobility Laboratory. Completes appropriate documentation and communicates with primary investigator clinical and research staff. Reviews medical records to determine precautions and contraindications prior to participant visits reviews data for precision assists with protocol design and study development. Assists with manuscript preparation and grant review.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs functional assessments per research protocols. Assists with motion analysis evaluations in the Gait & Mobility Laboratory.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills (Competencies) necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs and characteristics of the population served. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served. Demonstrates ability to assess and interpret agespecific data about the patients status. Identifies the patients agespecific needs.
  • Completes appropriate documentation and communicates with primary investigator(s) and research staff.
  • Assists with protocol design and study development.
  • Assists with manuscript preparation and grant review.
  • Reviews data for accuracy.
  • Translation and interpretation with patients requires fluency in language based on IRC requirements.
  • Performs related duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Physical Therapy DPT degree from an accredited program related to rehabilitation services area.

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in pediatrics including 1 years of experience in clinical research evaluation in clinical trials/cohort studies
  • Experience in gait and motion analysis preferred
  • Experience with neuromuscular disease populations preferred

Licensure Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

  • Licensure by the State of Tennessee Board of Examiners Division of Health Related Boards in Physical Therapy

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78000 $139360 per year for the role of Clinical EvaluatorPhysical Therapist II.
