About the Opportunity
Contentful operates highly scalable high throughput cloud infrastructure that enables our products to deliver reliable value to our customers.
Were looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (f/m/d) who cares deeply about building and operating robust secure and scalable infrastructure. Youll help shape the backbone that supports hundreds of billions of requests per month working in an engaging environment and tackling various challenges.

What to Expect
- Youll design build and maintain infrastructure that must be highly available secure and scalable serving billions of monthly requests.
- Youll work with AWS using Terraform and InfrastructureasCode best practices.
- Youll deploy and optimize Kubernetes clusters and help ensure that workloads scale and recover gracefully.
- Youll collaborate across domains and teams to enable infrastructure improvements
- Youll work to improve observability at scale
- Youll help us stay ahead of operational risks anticipating bottlenecks or failure points before they cause problems.
- Youll be involved in incident response postmortems
What You Need to Be Successful
- 3 years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure in highavailability environments
- Strong AWS knowledge across core services: VPC ALB EKS EC2 S3 Lambda Route53 RDS ElastiCache SNS/SQS etc.
- Terraform expertise for infrastructure provisioning
- Practical experience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS) including workload tuning autoscaling and troubleshooting under load
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Go preferred)
- Understanding of networking concepts: routing DNS load balancing
- Familiarity with CDN/Edge (e.g. Fastly) and how they interact with backend systems
- Comfortable debugging distributed systems issues across Edge Network Compute and Storage layers
- Experience with observability stacks (metrics logs tracing) and tools like Splunk and New Relic
- Familiarity with SRE practices: SLO SLA etc.
- Excellent English communication skills verbal and written (German not required).
- A collaborative mindset: youre helpful respectful and enjoy sharing knowledge
- Ability to context switch work through ambiguity and contribute across multiple workstreams
- You lead by example mentor others and embrace a culture of safe experimentation and continuous improvement
